Privacy Policy
Effective October 12, 2026
This policy explains how MOA Top Shot ("we") handles information in MOA Top Shot. We collect only what is needed to run and score events. We do not sell your information, show ads, or track you across other apps or websites.
What we collect
- Account: the email address and name provided by Sign in with Apple or Google (Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your real email).
- Profile (optional): display name, photo, avatar icon, and gender (male or female).
- Events: events you create or join, your role, team, shooting order, payment status marked by the organizer, affiliation (for leagues), and the scores entered for you or by you.
- Guest shooters: when an organizer adds someone without an account, the name and any email or phone number the organizer enters. That contact information is visible only to staff of that person's events.
- Event details organizers publish (dates, address, fees, payment handles such as Venmo usernames, contact info, event graphic).
- Device storage: the App keeps a copy of your events and unsynced scores on your phone so scoring works without signal.
- Range day (optional): the guns you add (name, caliber, scope click value, zero distance, notes) and the groups you log while sighting in (distance, where the shots landed, group size, ammo, notes).
What we do not collect
- No precise location, contacts, camera, microphone or health data.
- No payment card information. Entry fees are paid outside the App, directly to organizers.
- No advertising identifiers or third-party analytics.
How we use it
- To run the App: sign-in, rosters, teams, scoring, leaderboards and syncing.
- To keep it safe: permissions, abuse prevention and, once enabled, automatic screening of profile photos for inappropriate content.
- To contact you about your account or important changes. We do not send marketing email without your permission.
Who can see your information
- People in the same event can see your display name, photo or icon, gender (if set), team, affiliation and scores.
- Organizers of your events can also see payment status and, for guest shooters, contact details.
- Organizers can search people who have been in their own past events to add them to a new one. Search results show your name, a partly hidden email (for example tr•••@gm•••.com) and your last shared event, never your full email.
- Team access codes are visible only to organizers.
- Your Range day guns and range log are private to you. Organizers and other shooters cannot see them.
- The system administrator can access data to operate and support the App.
- Leaderboards are visible to members of the event.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers who process data only on our behalf: Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage, hosted in the United States), Expo (app updates), Apple and Google (sign-in and app distribution), and, once photo screening is enabled, Sightengine (automatic image moderation of uploaded profile photos). We may disclose information if required by law or to protect someone's safety.
Keeping and deleting data
Your data is kept while your account is active. You can remove your photo at any time in Settings. To delete your account and personal data, use Settings → Account → Delete my account (or email spotter@moatopshot.com from your account email). Deletion is immediate: your sign-in, email, name, photo, gender, affiliations, guns, range log and target photos are erased. Scores you shot in other organizers' events are kept on their results as "Former shooter", with your name removed. Events you own pass to another organizer of that event, or are deleted if there is none; the App shows which before you confirm. Organizers can remove guest shooters they added.
Children
Accounts are for people 13 and older; under 18 requires a parent or guardian's permission. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 through accounts. Organizers who add a minor as a guest shooter must have a parent or guardian's permission. Parents can contact spotter@moatopshot.com to review or delete a child's information.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access is enforced in the database itself, per event and per role, not just in the App. No system is perfectly secure; tell us right away if you think your account was misused.
Your choices and rights
You can view and edit your profile in Settings, leave events, and request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing spotter@moatopshot.com. Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have additional rights; we honor them for all users.
Changes
We will post updates here and ask you to accept material changes in the App.
